Book Cover Design

The Cover of a book is the first thing people see before the open it. It is the quintessential moment where someone could become excited or uninterested in the book in their hand. Based off what I have learned about Hierarchy, and simple layout design, I have gone to some local book stores and chosen a numerous books that I found and felt worth sharing.

 I could tell where the artist/designer wanted me to go. From the bubble to the fish to the bottom set of text. Simple, easy to follow and interesting to look at.

 I found this interesting way to show hierarchy with the same typeface, font size and all caps.

 As I read the title, I was looking for the flow and was confused, but I realized i was following it just the way the designer wanted, without even realizing it.

These nine or so books just make gave me a confirmation of the newly acquired knowledge of typography and design. I enjoyed seeing the real examples of the ideals we learned in class.
