There are my favorite spreads for a couple reasons. First off, the movement of the narrative work well and are understandable. Secondly, they have expressive typographic meanings such as together with little curning that allows for the meaning of together.
In this spread, the use of words, black and white and negative space allow for a comfortable amount of page use, while not feeling like too much. The O from the word world is used to be like the world around the word and the light with a stripe of black to make the word like be lit. Aditionally the change in font allows for a focus on those.Lastly, this spread is one of my favorites because of the movement from word to word in addition to the appropriate old style typeface for the american action driven language. Additionally, the image of "uncle same" within the O adds to the meaning and intensity of the word.

also, what makes the spreads successful are the spreads before and after and how they are more simple in contrast.
